The Truth about Animation

Youtube submitter and street artist Banksy help create a humorous and controversial Simpsons intro. Unusually enough it was approved by Fox.

My Reaction to this Video - The senseless rant

Do people who watch their favorite show really read the credits?
All the animation is done in Korea!
Many animation studios in the US don't do anything!
Nickelodeon, 20th Century, maybe some shows on Cartoon Network.
They draw story boards sure, do the voices, write the stories...
And send the animation production to overseas. Animation itself - The HARDEST PART OF THE WORK, the job of creating life to the characters is usually exported to overseas production where the value is cheeper.
It's no different from Walmart!

That's why Newgrounds is Awesome!

Artists need to show that the passion for animation lies within the individual or team and the art itself should not be cheapened to overseas productions.

Miyazaki Ghibli Studios for example - I know for a fact does EVERYTHING within their own walls.

If Australia want's to show their animation talents. Let it be animated in Australia.
-Thank You Jazza, Adam Phillips, etc.

If Great Britain want's to show their creations in cartooning. Let it be done by the hands of their own.
-Thank You Harry Partriage, Eddsworld, etc.

If the USA wants to bring it all together!
-Thank YOU Tom Fulp.

DO NOT let animation, cartooning...in general...your own ART. Be cheapened by the exportation of overseas manufacturing.

-

Sure, that's a very unrealistic outlook for major corporations.

So go "Indi" if you can.

And be proud of the sweat, blood, and tears you go through to make your work possible.

-

Forgive me for sounding like an idiot. As this is Simpson's intro IS a Satire and not to be taken seriously. Cause I hear Korean animation studios are actually really nice looking. But the point is still valid, the dollar value is cheeper so that's why it is exported.

I mean...what's the point in pursuing animation and calling it "American Cartoons" or "British Cartoons" if all the hard work is done in Korea?

Why can't more animation studio's be more independent?

Sure some Korea studios only do the coloring or inking. But where's the pride in self-sufficent production?

American Studios basically come up with a pitch, do the voices, make a story, but the real magic...the real reason why we enjoy animation is all done over seas!

Otherwise here's basically all America does....

This get's sent to Korea, then it gets animated.

Sigh...I just don't know anymore.

I feel sad.

If it gets to Japan, be prepared for a whole lot of pornz

Actually, they say Germany has more pornz. Japan just embraces it as a form of media more in cartoons.

WOOOORD!

I didn't know that :( All that I know is wrong. I pictured a team of Badass American animators work'n the talent outa there souls to make these toons.

eh, well I do think the idea and mental creation ...well thats the most interesting part to me. Tho I do very much admire the talent of animators. I admire creative minds equally as much as skillful hands.

I actually have known this for a while, and banksy wasn't the first to point this out; South Park beat him to it years ago. As for some of the authors you mentioned, I consider Jazza and Edd Gould to be highly overrated. Keep in mind that most claymation/stop-motion stuff is still domestically animated.
