***** 4/5 Stars.
The game's a real treat to casual gamers who simply enjoy the feeling of just...."going".
What I mean is that you don't have to get absorbed in all the little side quests unless it really catches your interest.
The game starts off slow, but it REALLY picks up when you get the 'pencil sword'. Thats when you can pull all kinds of fun and neat moves.
And the sword handles just like the "NG Rumble" game.
All in all...this is worth the 800 points.
Allot of good work went into this game and if you enjoyed playing Fancy Pants 1 & 2 on Newgrounds....
Chances are you'll LOVE playing this game.
I especially love 2 player Co-Op.
However it isn't without it's little flaws.
The game's jumping and wall jumping 'will' get some taking use to.
If you bother to really take time and 'read' the instructions at the beginning of the game, it tells you just how to properly jump.
Well it takes practice. But with that practice means nearly flawless execution of runs and jumps.
And occasionally you might run into a little hick-up but nothing really bad. VERY rare.
Swimming is perfectly executed.
Although because of it's programing, most of the art is Flash based and therefore very solid and bold. The art is an acquired taste. It's not for fans of high quality graphics.
But the simplistic graphics expresses the setting: It's a doodle world. It's almost fun to image looking at your colored sketch book coming to life.
---
Pros: Fans of Sonic the Hedgehog will like this game. It's fluid and fun.
Cons: Jumping and wall jumping takes 'practice' and the snail shell contests are almost infuriating.

*(update: Beat Portal 2 Story Mode...WHAT AN ENDING!)

you know, you compare it to sonic which i initially did too when i played it last night. It made me wonder if having a sonic-like life system woulda made more sense. You know, like youre not dead unless you get hit with no rings. The life bar seems passe at times.
If youre around id like to give coop a try.
i think the button layout takes some getting used to. Having to push B to interact with things and right trigger to speed up conversations felt 'weird' maybe i can change it in the control menu, but as a default setting that setup felt strange. Then again Dead Space buttons felt strange until i got used to them and then it became intuitive

We need to schedule a MVC3 fight too.
