I love how you've inverted the pattern designs. The whole artstyle eminds me of "Chowder".

What would've been good is a 'de-progressive' episode of Luigi's sanity.

This is essentially the climax of the episode.

I would love to see this expanded to maybe a good 10 minutes.

Instead, I would recommend you take only photos and upload what you want later.

Though isn't written dialogue still technically like talking? Surely there will be a way to communicate the battle's time passing without saying time had passed?

Say like...you see the sands blowing at top speed and plants grow and wither within seconds, and rain falls, pools of water fill and drain. Sun and Moon rises and falls - Fast Motion expression.

The audience will soon know that the battlefield is cursed when the bones in the desert come to life.
