    Today I prepared Abalone Sashimi

It is illegal to fish for Abalone in Hawaii because of over fishing, so farming Abalone has proven to be an easier and safer way to eat this rare and delicious shell-fish.

    $20 dollars for five 3 1/2 inch.

Needless to say, my first experience 'preparing' abalone on my own was interesting.

These slugs were crawling all over the place. They escaped from their bowl and such. But these were incredibly fresh!

    ----

It's a rare chance, but purchasing abalone still has the possibility of carrying a pearl.

These pearls unlike oyster pearls....a single one is well worth well over a thousand dollars.

    that sounds.... FUN
    i wouldn't eat that... >.<

It tastes better than it looks.

eww lol, the only way you would get me to eat that is if you didn't tell me what it was. I wanted to eat it up until you said they were slugs.*shiver* -have had some nasty experiences with slugs.

Well they aren't slugs, their mollusks.

I just like calling them that.

Oh and BTW the red baron pic is goin great, I decided to use photoshop instead of flash because I've been learning more about Photoshop in Grafix Design class -and shows more potential in certain areas.

    Good job bro.

I never seen an abalone pearl before I saw your latest post. However, you should try basing sushi/sashimi on Louisiana seafood when you get the chance (e.g. Alligator, turtle meat, frog legs, crawfish, etc.).

I hope to visit Louisiana one day!

I only tried gumbo once in Nevada but never had the real thing!

    I hear it's "DELISH!"
