There's allot to take away from this.
Collecting in-of itself is a coping mechanism for masking those feelings. Same with any other form of compulsive habit such as shopping, gambling, workaholism, alcohol, porn, etc.
That being said, the coping mechanism itself can be healthy or beneficial to the body and mind if you find the right outlet. Such as taking a walk, working out, cooking a nice meal, doing your errands, etc.
They say 'work hard' but that is a downfall eventually. Rather it should be 'work happily'
