Quite possibly the coolest idea EVER!!!

If this was an actual B-Movie I would TOTALLY watch it.

Perhaps the second challenge after the contest is for the winner to try and MAKE the movie for an additional grand prize!

2nd to 5th place winners could try their luck the the grand prize too.

It'll just make it all the more encouragement to pass judgement of this contest and therefore have more submissions!

TurkeyOnAStick responds:

Thanks JBK.

Yeah I agree; to be fair I'm sure all the submissions have potential to be made in a Flash, be it a 10 second short or full-on epic.

OH God ~ Ever heard of the phrase....Poke Squid?

Where squids teeth usually are is where her....

Wow...Now I realize how risque "The Little Mermaid" actually was.

Still, how you got inspired from that image is beyond my understanding.

But she is still kinda hot, the pink nipples add that extra flare of sensuality.

PixelCake responds:

It was mostly the bright colors XD haha
thank you

Pretty sweet dude!

A traditional Manga-isk look for our infamous Red Baron.

The Red Baron's majestic cape!

His spiked helmet and armor pads.

But my only thing I was hoping for....

Was the Victorian Crest Cross on his cheek.

Bravo Dude!

redminus responds:

Aaaaaaaaaaand there it is! Though I'd thought it was perhaps a bit too small a detail to add at this scale, it seems to sit fine now. Thoughts?

I would love to see this animated

And possibly on TV.

Fuck, I would even settle for Fox Network to broadcast it.

All you need is an animation pilot demo.

Okay! I think I got this figured out.

P-Bot is inspired from VINCENT.
I-Bot is inspired from Johnny 5.
G-Bot is inspired from ELECTRO.
M-Bot is inspired from your own series of ALLOY.
And both F-Bot and A-Bot are Transformers inspirations (Soundwave & Arcee)

This is a pretty kick-ass group picture.

P=Portal
I=Image
G=Gold
M=Moderator
A=Audio
F=Flash

MindChamber responds:

nailed it, no wait, close! G-Bot is inspired from Rosie of the jetsons,

and as a whole the groups' shapes and colors were inspired by Mighty Orbots.

OH I used to draw new Pokemon when I was a kid

AND THIS BY FAR IS THE BEST ONE YET!

----

I can recall from memory the ones that I did as a kid, some even became a reality.

Lickatounge with three tongues.

Plant and Physic Evee

A robot Mewtwo (Metal MewTwo)

A god Haunter (HaunterLord)

A magnatron + primape

etc.

Point is....I was a huge geek of Pokemon back when I was 12.

But now I wish Nintendo would just SHUT UP or do a spin off series that actually uses ideas we want.

Like horrific cross-breeding of your pokemon into failed babies of existence!

Mua HAHAHAHA!

Fear my cross breed of a Pikachu and Squirtle! Oh wait...it's a still birth.

Neat *Takes picture

The Goggle Eyes is one of the best ways for a robot to appear "shy and nervous".

Or in cases like Johnny 5, an eccentric robot pop cultured filled bookworm with a love for show-tunes.

He's like a little nervous museum curator.

HEY - Wouldn't it be funny if his neck stretched upward like a PEZ candy dispenser and a spray can of paint shoots out?

The whole cannon arm things has been done to death with almost all kinds of robots. Granted it IS almost traditional.

*I especially love the new group picture of all the robots. That deserves to be a poster.

MindChamber responds:

you're on the money with the Johnny 5 reference, infact P-Bot was inspired by Vincent from Blackhole, so I tried to follow that tradition and have each bot slightly reference a robot from the good ol days of film. (with the exception of M-Bot, hes referenced from Alloy)

Considering that I-Bot's character isn't known yet

This is a pretty good interpretation of an "ARTIST- BOT"

Though to avoid the concept of everything looking like a B-Rated anime knock off.

Having P-Bot look more heroic wasn't really necessary to the portrayal of his character.

Anyone for example, can draw ANY kind of mech and add a letter "P" on his breastplate and call it P-Bot.

Same could go for A-Bot.

The original interpretations are just fine and although the reinterpretation is "cool", I don't see them becoming replacements.

Cause come on, A-Bot looks like a big Boom Box, (though similar to Soundwave) still portrays his character well.

I just don't see the portrayal in P-Bot and A-Bot to be all that representative to what they do.

I dunno, it's just my opinion.

However I-Bots character has not been intrepreted even by the staff and his is a pretty good look.

The stylish backwards cap, the spray can cannon arm, almost as if a college art student was a robot.

Manuel-Dangelo responds:

My I-bot Reinterpretation is a design baced on a very litle tips MindChamber gived as feed back for my first "interpretation" of I-bot (you can check the original reinterpretation here -->http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/manuel-dangelo/i-bot-rinterpretation <--). Mind chamber has already made an small sample of I bot on the art he shows at his last News post, the white robot on the left.

about A and P. I made them look as I feel they are, not as I think they should be and I don want my art to be a replacement of the original ones. you can call it a side view, interpretation or even fanArt (even if I dislike the term) but it's not just a any robot with the P or the A in the chest.

In general, the idea of a reinterpretation is to keep the basic structure or characteristec elements of the charapter and still give it the look of what you feel about them.

Thanks you very much for such a complete feed back and hope you to like my onther Reinterpretations as I'm working on the whole Bot-Crew.

NO WAY! This is totally Tezuka inspired!

I never thought of you as a fan of Tezuka's work.

Usually his art style turns off modern media viewers.

But if you look past the child-like features, he really was the God of Manga. His stories are incredible! Buddha, Metropolis, Kimba, etc.

I really dig the remakes of Astro Boy, I have yet to check out Phoenix.

Who else to pay homage to when celebrating Robot Day than something Astro Boy inspired.

Seriously though, if you never read Tezuka's Buddha, it's really good.

jouste responds:

yeah i'm a huge fan of tezuka. i only have the first 3 buddah books but they are amazing. i just revently finished MW and man alive was that intense. a very very dark side of him.

and yes! astroboy was and always will be the king of robots!

glad you like it pal! always good to hear from you.

*highfives*
