Numbah Eight day of Christmas, my tutu give to me

Eight ukulele,

seven shrimp a-swimmin', seex hula lesson,

Five beeg fat peeg (that make TWENNY!),

foah flowah lei, tree dry squid, two coconut,

An' one mynah bird in one papaya tree.

_______________

The Ukulele was originally brought to Hawaii by the Portuguese when they sailed to Hawaii during the 19th century. There, they introduced the natives to a lute - or a small guitar - and a few generations later, the Ukulele was developed from adapting the look of a guitar.

The word "Ukulele" literally translate as "Jumping Fleas" because of the motion of picking the strings rather than strumming while playing.

The Ukulele is now the most convenient form of musical instrument for those who still enjoy the acoustic feel.

The best Ukuleles are made from Koa Wood and it's value because of history, craft, and condition could range in the Thousands of Dollars.

Still considered the quickest fingers on the island - Jake Shimabukuro is the fastest Ukulele artist.

Garlic Shrimp is a simple shrimp scampi, but what makes it Hawaiian is the amount of sauteed garlic added to the shrimp mixed with a variety of spices and hawaiian sea salt.

Known as a surfer's choice for lunch, garlic is good for improving one's metabolism and the shrimp is loaded with calories for those hungry athletes.

WARNING: This particular dish requires ALLOT of butter. But you can easily substitute the butter for olive oil for a healthier meal.

This dish is often eaten with two scoops of rice and a lemon wedge.

So Oh'no

Hula dancing is by far the most important thing in Hawaiian culture. For ancient Hawaiians do not have a written language system. So in order to tell stories, histories, or events...many epic events were expressed through dance and chanting.

Today...many of you mainlanders may have a different interpretation of Hula. Spongebob or whatever. Point is...your WRONG!

Hula is very spiritual and extremely important to Hawaii's culture.

Each dance gesture represents the telling of a story.

And.....once a year....a competition of Hula is held. The Mary Monarch festival.

5 straight hours of Hula.

Something everyone who lives here should watch at least once in their life time from start to finish.

It may seem boring at first, but give it 10 minutes. Your soul almost feels enchanted and at peace!

One piece of advice for you ladies...if your going to Hula yourself...

Wear something underneath!

Kalua Pig is by far the main course in a traditional Hawaiian Luau feast. The term "Kalua" means to be cooked underground in an 'imu' which is a cooking place. The Imu is a big ditch dug about a foot underground and filled with hot coals. Then a pig is placed inside wrapped and covered in banana leaves. There the heat insulates but never burns the pig as the banana leaves are filled with water. It cooks with a rocky flavor and is quite delicious.

Now the whole pig could be cooked, or just parts of it (such as the shoulder, butt, or leg) which is then wrapped in Ti leaves and cooked the same way.

Many companies have tried to imitate the flavor of Kalua pig but it is NEVER taste the same as the only way to attain this original flavor isn't by some fancy spice or sauce, but by using the porks natural flavor with sea-salt and cooked in an Imu.

Here you can try to cook your own version, though it isn't traditional, it still tastes pretty good.

In addition to the holidays, Lechon is a prepared roast pork in the Philippines that is a suckling pig served with lemon, vinegar, and sauce.

(Apparently when searching for images of five pigs, I came across lechon instead of Kalua pork)

Flower Lei - as a tradition in most polynesian culture. Although traditionally in Hawaii it is used primarly as a symbol for well being, wealth, etc. And it is used in almost ANY festive celebration such as...

Graduations
Weddings
Birthdays
Funerals
Retirement
etc.

You can make Lei out of anything - not just flowers - you can make it out of paper and money!

Numbah Tree day of Christmas, my tutu give to me..

Tree dry squid, two coconut,

An' one mynah bird in one papaya tree.

_______________

Dried shredded squid is essentially self-explained. Sure it may seem unsavory to you American types! But this is culturally important to the cultures of the pacific. This fish is loaded with protein and is the equivalent to beef jerky to people who don't have allot of cows living in their lands. It is quite tasty with just the right amount of spicy sauce.

WARNING: It is VERY chewy! You may break your molars if you bite down too hard. You have to sort of savor the flavor first and then eat it.

___________

Myna Bird: Mynas are medium-sized birds of varying color but are commonly black/brown with yellow masks. They are part of the Starling family and are known for their imitation skills.

.
/* */
Papaya: Papayas are part of the Caricaceae family. They grow in tall trees that produce egg-shapped fruit with a flavor similar to mixing a pineapple with a peach. They only grow in tropical regions of the world and are believed to originate from Mexico. Many nutritionist believe Papaya to be a superfood because of it's rich enzyme content for aiding in digestion.

God Hand....

This game is Harder than GOD getting an erection.

When Clover Studio was informed by Capcom that they were going to be shut down, they REALLY pushed the limit with DIFFICULTY on this game.

I swear to God dudes and dudetts, there is no other game like God Hand.

-It's the only game where you possess God's right arm.
-It's the only game where you beat the shit out of people and think its funny!
-It's the only game where you get to spank women's asses at warp speed!
-It's the only game where you can send an opponent flying into space!
-It's the SECOND game I know that uses fruit as a form of health! (Castle Crashers)

The Story is INSANELY funny and weird.

But the game play is MERCILESS!

You might find yourself crying at sheer defeat. Or swearing and throwing the controller on the ground.

Needless to say...I conquered this game.

Not just the game, but a particular mini boss with over 120,000 Hit Points.

Double Hands - Battle Yourself - Arena 51

I managed to use a similar strategy but focused more on Powering up my God Hand.

Mike - I so own you at this game!

Time for my VICTORY song!

Sigh...i wish Clover Studio's still existed! They made some of the BEST games in the world!

VIewtiful Joe Is the most STYLISH side-scrolling beat-em-up.

Okami brings ancient Japanese Shintoism back to life.

God Hand lays the SMACKDOWN on bad-guys!
