I thought weed was legal in your country.

Unless that...NOT weed.

The perspective is odd and distorted as intended. It does seem to capture the darker realms of society in the suburbs. It presents a scenic composition with good use of colors.

But once again Shad, your hands still could use some work. They always look funky sometimes.

TheShadling responds:

Weed isnt legal in switzerland, not yet.
I guess I should spend more time on making hands look better.
Thanks for the review Jak.

Reminds me of something I saw in Europe

Why do English pubs always feature these drab paintings? Not to say your is that drab but it does pose a nice transition from the darkness/lightness theme.

Like in a "Sea of hopelessness - there exists a small glimmer of light" sorta theme. It's sort of a means to encourage old salts to tell their tall tales.

Was your grandfather an expert fisherman? Was this based on an actual expierence?

It's a bit small, even if I click it. Mind re-uploading a larger version so that I may see the details? Cause I'm sure you worked hard on this.

kiiryu responds:

My grandfather wasn't ever an expert fisherman, but he's always enjoyed reading books about sailing and exploration, and he's done quite a lot of traveling himself.

Anyhow, I didn't use any reference for this, but it seems like there are quite a few paintings of ships at sea with this kind of setup, so it was the first thing that came to mind. I'm not sure if it's because of the theme itself, or just because this kind of effect is pretty easy to do.

As for the size, unfortunately that's the full image. I didn't have much time to do this. (only about 3 hours)

Thanks for the review.

I GET IT!

You've just added face slap to all Zelda and GIJoe fans everywhere!

Brakkenimation responds:

Heehee, indeed.

This missy needs a mistletoe hanging from her ass!

Nah - that would be too "naughty" for this year :3

I could go further with a candy cane idea but I think I've said too much.

Your sexy pictures are always a "sweet-treat" to the eyes.

Happy Holidays!

BizarroJoe responds:

Heey, have you seen Snakejohnson's take on the subject?
If you want to see elf+candy cane action, I suggest you to keep an eye on the Flash Portal today... JUST IN CASE.
Oh, is that the Xmas Pun Parade coming again for another round...? HOORAY!
Happy holidays to you, too, Jak! I'm already thinking on the New Year's Eve!

I actually suggested a "Shapes" move in 3D

Is animating stuff like this hard? I mean...once you get the shapes...it's it much like flash vectoring movement?

Although...I question if it'll have the same impact if it was in 3D. I speculate it could go both ways.

Can you animate this over Stamper's sound? Let's see how it works.

Osuka responds:

Animating this shapes in 3d is just like the same like the flash.

I dont know if in 3d would have the same impact, i feel really funny how simple is the original animation. But always will be fun to try XD

Coo coo-ca-choo

Nice use of colors and highlights.

I saw on that Adam Sandler movie that states that Walrus' have the second largest penis in the world.

So he's probably in pain cause his ball sacs are always cold.
Thus his facial expression XD

adamkav responds:

I believe its about the length of your arm, i've seen bigger

Their's nothing wrong with photoshoping photos

In fact, it adds a nice appeal so as to contract the realistic vs the cartoons.

I would do this more often. But remember to heavily mark up background so that they are not recognized.

If you get your images from Google, might I suggest investing one day in a Camera.

But what really helps is the ability to distort images. By mirror reversal and smudging effects.

d-z responds:

Great so it didn't work, you still noticed. I guess i should really use the camera and shoot my own backgrounds. and trace them too. Thanks for your time.

PPG fan art!

Perfect for the holiday season. Her freeze power was just randomly thrown in their but it served it's purpose for the series.

Beautiful use of pattern, colors, and detail.

This must've taken a while.

PixelCake responds:

eeeeeeeh 4 hours at the most
thank you :) happy holidays Jak

Compared to the original it's far different

If it's Megaman's Ring Man, then of course she needs rings. But I see your point, she doesn't look anything like a Megaman boss character.

Then again...it seems like Megaman creators takes too strongly on the approach of their strong anime look. Granted it's from Japan, but I kinda miss the American versions of the show.

If Capcom is willing to branch out on newer art designs, I'm hoping they take on either your character looks for a Warner Bros happier approach. Or that old Flash "Rock Man Neo" for a twisted Jhonen Vasquez look.

Allot of your artwork reminds me strongly of Looney Toons movement but with the small hint of anime-isk anatomy and shapes. As some people would say, that shows the eye' of an animator.

If you can fart stuff like this in only 7 minutes...you can probably fart out an entire TV season in just one hour. Have you applied for any major animation studios yet or do you intend to go indi and collab with someone from Newgrounds and expand on you own?

Egoraptor responds:

dang what a comment

thanks for the kindness bro, my aim isn't really to join a studio and animate a mess for a bunch of dudes in suits, I like the freedom that being a freelance affords me.

Right now I'm just working on my list of projects one by one. One step at a time and I'll surely be at something worth a godamn. Dunno how big on the awesome cartoons or girlchan you are but I'm hammering on those for a while as I improve to tackle something a bit less topical. But that'll be a while from now, I think. I really am bad at predicting my own future which is probably why I'm a freelance artist to begin with.

that's real cool of you to say that stuff about the movement and everything, I like to think the way I draw is equally influenced by east and west and it applies what I love about both.

Man...if only it didn't look so much like others..

Have you ever heard of the phrase....every idea's been done before?

Not to diss your art, but MAN oh MAN. I keep thinking...

"Bumble-Bee" Teen Titans, or "FireFly" Batman, or "Wasp" Avengers.

Well....I guess there's no harm in expanding a good idea.

I do like the hoodie idea though.

beastkid7 responds:

Funny you should say that cause the whole idea came from the hoodie.

"FireFly"? ...from Batman? I don't know what your talking about. *looks everywhere but you*

jk, No, it wasn't on purpose but I do remember really liking the character design of The Batmans FireFly.
