NO WAY! This is totally Tezuka inspired!

I never thought of you as a fan of Tezuka's work.

Usually his art style turns off modern media viewers.

But if you look past the child-like features, he really was the God of Manga. His stories are incredible! Buddha, Metropolis, Kimba, etc.

I really dig the remakes of Astro Boy, I have yet to check out Phoenix.

Who else to pay homage to when celebrating Robot Day than something Astro Boy inspired.

Seriously though, if you never read Tezuka's Buddha, it's really good.

jouste responds:

yeah i'm a huge fan of tezuka. i only have the first 3 buddah books but they are amazing. i just revently finished MW and man alive was that intense. a very very dark side of him.

and yes! astroboy was and always will be the king of robots!

glad you like it pal! always good to hear from you.

AH the story begins to unfold....

I can't wait till it's completion.

I love how you positioned the professor's head in the center of the robot's chest.

Kinda telling me that his mind and the robot...."Mindchamber" as it is because of how it once was....

The prof looks desolated or in deep thought.

Questioning or calculation the results of his actions.

A masterpiece of philosophy, life, and choices is soon to be unfolded.

MindChamber responds:

thanks! very deep review!

It's an okay show...

Cause Ben10 is still better. (A much better show now that it has a 3rd season)

Now if they somehow tied in the two universes together that would be bitchin'

Art style reminds me of Secret Saturdays - a favorite of yours yes?

I personally feel that ManofAction could've developed this character better.

For one...why would his powers be hindered by his self-estime? i see no logic in that. Cause the nanites are machines that are suppose to violate a host's DNA and reengineer it into something hideous. If his "testosterone" is what powers his null-nanites....that...just bizarre.

That pretty much means if a hot girl says he's got a small dick would be the end of his superhero career XD

Now Eat-Man....that was a CRAZY anime back in the day. The idea of forming metal out of your body isn't that original...but still cool though.

PixelCake responds:

I think it's great that they have a character who has so many flaws...flaws we all have had at some point in our lives.
I like TSS but I was trying more of a butch hartman style ;)

I want to see the show develop more. Ben 10 got better as it went along...but they raped the concept with poorly-done sequels.

Lol - pico looks like a Leprehacan

The composition seems a bit disheveled as the bullets appear to be in direct contact with his back.

Almost as if you forgot to paint in the bloody splatters from his bullet wounds.

Still.....this is just a minor observation. I don't mean to insult.

The rest of the composition and re-vision of characters is great!

Nene's a beauty but watch out for Herpes!

And Darnell is never too far behind to aid Pico.

Nice touch using the Umber kids as the mafia.

You really paid attention to capturing the Pico universe in this picture.

TheShadling responds:

Pico is really really lucky that he didnt get hit. Thanks for the review Jak!

Too cool dude!

You know...its always been a question to me what exactly Dad is....

And in this depiction, he appears more monster/ogre than a killer in a purple jump suit.

You have this nice touch to all your illustrations in character design.

There's that sense of "Bad-Ass-Ery".

The style is cartoony yet intense.

I know this may sound cruel....but it would be funny and almost fit his style perfectly if his other hand was holding the decapitated head of Tom Fulp.

Just saying...since the picture emulates that particular vision in my mind.

Dad's just that kind of guy. Almost the mirror image to Tom Fulp. Like...if Tom had a dark side...it would be Dad.

jouste responds:

haha thanks dude! i gotta say i think having tom fulp's decapitated head would be one of the more endearing things i've seen people depict of that guy ;P

great observations and i'm stoked you like the image!

(0v0) - how daring <3

Now this is a great sign of confidence.

You are indeed one awesome chick!

Description - cute, intellectual, supple, and innocent with but a hint of mischievous.

These are the qualities of Mandie LeScum.

Now stop drooling guys XD

This is art!

PixelCake responds:

I was not expecting all this love o.o thank you :D

Something Epic no doubt

I can't wait till it's finished.

Awesome Work dudes.

Nothin' but all the violence, sex, and bloody gore intact that gives the reason why artists make "graphic" novels.

A post apocalyptic world, sexy babes, and bad-asses badder than Chuck Norris.

Bad Shit is Going Down....

And luckily a kick-ass hero is here to save our pathetic lives!

dommi-fresh responds:

ha ha ha thats what i live for.

More like DEVIL Hitler.

Gone to hell, gave the devil a bitch slap and f**king. And essentially became the new devil.

I mean wouldn't that be cool? What if Hitler was SO evil that he actually managed to call the devil his bitch!

Awesome props. Looks like an epic boss fight.

Throw ninja jewish star.

TheShadling responds:

X) thanks Jak havent had a review from you in a while.

The story seems a bit convoluted.

Almost to the point where I feel a large majority of audiences might dismiss the idea.

That is unless there's nothing really deep about Tom's explanation, just that it sounds absurd.

It's all in the presentation and acting.

When I saw this...my first impression was a Virus somehow invaded P-Bot's circuitry through spam of the portal, causing him to disembowel himself (in a way only robots can), and essentially turning him into a Zombie-Bot.

It almost seems more "fearful" if his goggles suddenly lit up and his eyes open up and turned into jaws.

BUT....that's just my interpretation.

As it is right now...it doesn't strike fear as the familiarity of P-Bot's face still retains his innocence.

Try having his "goggles" become his eyes, and his face somehow rips open and forms MASSIVE TEETH!

MindChamber responds:

Ok. well the reason Pbots face remained intact is to have some sort of semblance to the original character. Its supposed to be creepy granted but its also supposed to be funny. If a demonic mickey Mouse toy was chasing you down a hallway, it wouldn't be nearly as ridiculous if Mikey himself wasn't somewhat identifiable. as for the story being convoluted. I disagree. It has a plot device and setup for the action. and that's it. that's all you really need for a horror or action movie. I would agree it being convoluted if say I began with a back story of the Key, or why Tom has it, or how he figured out how to use it as a power source.

the fact that Tom states he is using a demonic entity as an alternative power source should be enough for you to conclude that this is an absurd story.

One of the most classic Bond scenes.

Death by Gold.

Man those were the days of espionage movies.

Great painting

You capture lighting well.

beastkid7 responds:

Death by gold indeed. Yes! I chose Goldfinger out of all the other James Bond movies cause I had the most memories from this one ...it was the most memorable to me. -Odd job - Dead gold lady - Lazer scene "do you expect me to talk?" "No Mr. Bond I expect you to die."

"The best way to change the world is to first change yourself."
