It's been almost 10 years!

And I'm watching it AGAIN!

Funny, but I'm not sure if this is a good idea.

Although the overall flash was entertaining and funny....I'm not sure if it's a good idea to publicly present what people you know are saying or doing. Especially when they are not aware that your taking notes on their behaviors.

It's one thing to make jokes based upon random people you meet in public. There's no way you'll meet them again. And not everyone goes to the same websites. It's also part of the reason why most artists and authors use alias names.

But this is your high school where personal feelings are at risk of being hurt. Despite the names being anonymous and unannounced, those people who watch your flash will KNOW who said them because of how rumors and gossip spreads.

Schools are small and making a characters out of people when they do not wish to be could have personal side affects later.

ESPECIALLY when it comes to issues of drugs, sex, or racist remarks. Quoting personal conversations of what people say or reenacting school faculty behavior will be recognizable and will stir some resentment.

Just keep that in mind okay.

However....if you actually took the time and ASKED each person who or whom you based each skit about. Then that's a different story and this flash is legitimate.

The animation was decent but it could've had more work to it.

Aqlex responds:

I have to agree with you that "personal feelings are at risk of being hurt" here. But I did make sure that a large chunk of my friends knew what they were getting themselves into, especially when they voiced themselves. For some others, I replaced the real person with a randomly draw student, so that they would not know it was themselves. And if I tried to draw the original person they said it, I kept in mind that they might see themselves so I tried to keep it nicer or less insulting. My friends know that I write down or memorize a lot of funny things that happen to us though, and they seem okay with that. I am planning on using more original material more often in the future though, instead of always just animating what happens to my friends and I. Thanks for the review, and for sharing your thoughts! =) You seem to be one of the few that cared about the people who might have been hurt by this.

Excellent in Animation - Weak in Comedy...

Ego...sigh...I honestly believe you need to branch out.

Comedy may not be your strongest point.

I mean...look at all these 10's...do they really mean it?
Or do they vote 10 cause your popular.

I honestly did not find this to be very funny at all.

I can understand where you were implying the humor...

But this just wasn't tickling my humor.

HOWEVER - the animation was superb!

I especially enjoy your facial expressions and how they transform from anime-ish to something obscene and profound.

But writing is nearly HALF of the enjoyment. And I did not enjoy this very much.

I really didn't enjoy allot of your newer flashes.

I honestly believe your talents may be BEST suited in other genres.

Please experiment instead of only sticking to Comedy.

You might surprise yourself.

Egoraptor responds:

I was going to take your review seriously until I saw that you also gave Robocop a 6.

FINALLY DUDE, you know how much i wanted to watch

After many months of investing your kick-ass animation skills and superb story telling abilities...

I finally have a chance to watch your masterpiece...

(watching...)

Wow...pretty good dude!

I'm toughly impressed with the imagination.

Though it is obvious it isn't in it's greatest quality, but that is besides the point.

This movie is about the STORY.

And the message it delivers will touch the Christmas spirit in all of us.

Thank you VERY much for sharing this amazing piece of work.

A very neat sample of what's to come

You being a fan of the game, you obviously you put more effort in the L4D animation bit. It was well done.

Let's see if you can incorporate some impressive voice acting later on.

A decent recording mike shouldn't be too expensive.

For a first flash, it is rather impressive!

___

-it was a bit short and lacking in sound
-it wasn't so much focused on movement animation.

+the lip-syncing was pretty much on cue
+impressive use of colors
+your artistic abilities really show through

Sabtastic responds:

Aw, thanks! XD

As soon as Christmas break rolls around, I'll possibly be able to buckle down into something with an actual plot. There's going to be nothing to do. lol
Let's hope I can get my hands on some good audio if I actually decide to do that! :D

Also, since you mentioned it. movement is something I plan on practicing more in the next ones. Now that i've got a feel for Flash in general, I can work with it a little more effortlessly next time around.

Pretty cool dude.

Although I feel that because it was charcoal, drawing this and animating at the same time must've been quite tiresome.

Mistakes probably often occurred.

But you know...this is still not bad. Sure there have been others done better but this is the first I've seen in an attempt to use something messy as charcoal.

I wonder....Why not give Oil Painting animation a try?

Can you imagine the beauty of it all!

Captain responds:

Oooo I like the sound of that, not sure how well it would actually pan out though. Might play with that in the future :P

Very impressive - and such dedication!

To redraw that same image over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over (GASP!) and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....

Well...you get the idea...

I would like to know just how long of a time invested did it take to accomplish this unique form of animation.

There are only a few like these around so keep up the good work and see what else you can create.

stickbob123 responds:

Don't worry I will. And thanks for one of the biggest reviews yet!

Kingbastard....hmm....

This music video makes me wanna check out his music.

I must admit the best I've heard and seen was the "Me BIll" flash animation.

His spacious tunes leaves much to the animation of those who wish to attempt flash on his works.

Very impressive imagination! And very well animated.

Whirlguy responds:

Thanks man. You should definitely check his stuff out!

The heck was that?

Though the animation was decent, you did not express the story well enough.

I got the basic story down, but it seemed too rushed.

This could've been more expressive if you invested at least 4 minutes worth of animation work.

mrnihil responds:

4 minutes of this? you're more patient than you should be.

6/10

Hmmmm....

Though decent in animation...I'm just not understanding where the 'funny' is coming from.

Sure it is making fun of those cheesy action thrillers. But it wasn't enough parodying.

It all seemed too...predictable.

Battosai810 responds:

Yeah, I'll agree it's a bit predictable. It's lampooning a predictable genre, after all. Thanks for watching!
