This is indeed a good flash for RPG maniacs

Too bad I'm not one...

GOD IT'S SO SLOW....not animation wise...just...I can't stand turn based stragety.

I'm more of the HACK & SLASH kinda of gamer.

This game however earns all it's props on RPG elements.

-Wonderful Animation
-Intense Battles
-Strategies
-Good use of items
-Fan Service

Everything that an Anime Convention that REEKS of Virginity could possibly enjoy. Though I mean that sarcastically and in reference to a 'particular' youtube character who hangs with the joker's girlfriend.

That means...that this is by far...what every RPG guy wants in a game.

Lengthy, Non-Challenging, and a Broken Cart

But it did win game of the year - strongly due to artistic quality.

Game wise - it's not very spectacular - just lengthy.

This games is LONG - VERY LONG and the medals to achieve were easy to say the least. One could easily achieve all metals in a single 10-20 minutes of play. Finding Nene and Darnel might be a challenge if one didn't care to look for the most conscious places (as noted through the game's run). But the "Meat is Murder" medal wasn't even a challenge.

Just run / jump / and avoid bullets to give you timing and space.

The game was not very impressive (artistic yes) but game-play was not impressive at all. Each stage wasn't even progressively difficult to platform or even avoid/shoot enemies (as each enemy follows a set path and cannot even chase Pico off platforms) It was almost as if I was playing the game in circles as each stage looked the same.

Now the Kart run was only impressive to the point where the jump button seemed broken. (have that looked into). Each jump seemed untimely and choppy.

-A few smarter AI should provide a challenge
-More variety in platorming (instead of recycling the same thing)
-What about a Freezer Stage?
-Mini bosses to fight over the boiling Oil?
-More Grotesque images of butchered people to really emphasize obscenity.
-Rescue more than just Darnell or Nene (how about a P.O.W rescue of famous NG icons?)

But...this was basically just "slim pickins'" from a hen house. This year's Pico Games were a bit lack-luster. And yours however did deliver it "Artistically" just not "Game-Wise"

-----But enough of my rant on the game--------

5/10

It was strong in art - not playability

I honestly don't understand why...

this game is "like" pico sim date...except whenever you attempt to attempt you're skills...there is NOTHING to be done.

At least in Pico Sim date you would run into the occasional battle...that was part of the upside of your game.

But here...All I'm doing is randomly leveling up my character (at an INCREDIBLY slow rate) and attempting missions with a roll of the dice.

It gets boring VERY fast.

Why can't you add some interaction for each type of mission?

For example

For Strength Missions
A Pokemon like battle against an alien or umberkid

An Intellligent Battle
A puzzle or riddle of somekind - maybe a tetris/gem/maze or combination?

A dexterity puzzle
Duh...a simple platformer will suffice

That way...it's up the the player too to determine how well each soldier develops.

I'll leave the rest up to you.

Ha! Beat it!

This game was no match for "Me"

DIE you wimpy gremlin looking thingy!
He who hides behind a massive armored suit-is a tinsy winsy BABY!

Review:

Though the medals will be a bit of a challenge.

Tha ending animation was a bit sketchy. But I suppose nothing too well animated should be added. After all...this game must have ALLOT of programing.

This boss did take a good 10 minutes. But I eventually learned his pattern.

The fighting style looked as though you were inspired by Princess Peach and Wario from SSBB.

But all in all...it was a fun game.

MindChamber responds:

haha I knew you would kick this games ass! nice job baron., yes the ending wasn't supposed to be so sketchy but I had a harddrive crash and lost the original and had to make a new one from scratch in time for pico day.

im glad you had fun!

Man...I loved this game ever since I joined NG

Adding Medals to the mix gives me an excuse to play it again a few times.

It is my speculation that Domo-kun is one of Tom Fulp's hidden personas.

As noted in Luis' video-taping of Tom Fulp acting stupid in a cardboard box with painted teeth. - Watch Youtube

The Game is a bit unresponsive to the "A" button - possibly because of the add-ons.

But once you get the hang of it...it's not so bad.

RAAAAAAWWWWWRRRRR

And because of the Medals - I discovered those neat little easter-eggs.

Watching Domo Kun getting giggy with the hotty in the bikini was the best of the ending credits.

MAN - this game is boring

The game's animation of Stamper was well-done but the rest of the game was very VERY unstructured.

No set rules - Randomly generated locations of points and obstacles - no real way to avoid the oncoming bees or cactus.

How is this a structured game? The only way people will achieve their so called medals is if they keep playing until the computer randomly generates a set course that allows them to either beat the level with ease or insane difficulty. Even if you play INSANE mode. The difficulty level differs.

And speaking of the medals - Remember Foamy's rant about "Pointless" medals?

I REALLY REALLY think...this game needs allot more work.

The jumping and dodging...how are you suppose to avoid that ONE bee that hovers JUST in you line of jumping and running? You CAN'T avoid it.

Make the game so that it is difficult...but Possible to beat because of how it is structured.

I don't mean to get all in your face about it. But I have to honest with my impressions of this game.

You know...you gotta show props for origins

Pico has evolved well thanks to MC and the hundreds of artists who appreciate unique characters.

Though it technically wasn't your first flash Mr, Fulp. I feel that this provocative subject matter in an action packed videogame is what really got NG started for it's direct approach to creating for the sake of creating.

And not to be concerned about content or opinions or anything.

this really is...the humble origins of Pico.

I wanna make a Manga of this game one day.

We get allot of pretenders here on NG

And if you are indeed from Adult-Swim.

Make a fuckin' commercial about it or something.

The game rocks as usual but still...we DO get pretenders here on NG.

AdultSwim responds:

Alright, despite some misgivings about your being the real JakBaronKing, we have decided to prove ourselves to you. Sometime tomorrow the name JakBaronKing will appear on the AdultSwim.com homepage. In exchange for instantly transforming you into a worldwide internet celebrity, we will be expecting a similar life-changing opportunity from you on the JakBaronKing.com media network.

Very...Cute

The Animal Crossing Music totally works ^_^ Glad you could find music to upload.
Finding each music to fit the theme of the character and event is easy if you know your Nintendo :D

For your first game...it was well constructed..thought out...humorous...and pleasant.

Nami-Tsuki responds:

Thanks! I put a lot of work into it ^^

Meh...same as usual

All your Thing Thing Arena games are the same...

Not to say that they are not bad...just...the same.

But you did improve the selection of weapons.

However...in spite of these improvements...you also removed some of the other things that made "Thing Thing 2" really fun.
___________

No Zombie Mode?
No Stinky Bean?

Those were my favorite parts from "TT2"

But...Custom game is a nice touch...

You really need to consider making this game for a Game Counsel or PC/Mac if you wanna include all the fun things that make "Thing Thing"
___________

Although this is primarily a shooter game...

Adding a variety of Hand-to-Hand weapons other than the "Lead Pipe" would add more flare to the game.

like...

"OMG I just killed 100 Thing Things with only a sword"
________

Some weapons for example:

Sword
Nun-Chucks
Combat Knife
Chain
Future Beam Saber
Spiked Shields

All of which could deflect bullets and grenades with timely swings.

That would make your games so much better.
